22 Weeks 6 Days
On January 27, 2011 at about 5:30pm, Nanette's water broke. The technical term is preterm premature rupture of the membranes (PPROM). Her husband Jared was returning from a business trip to California and when he landed in Salt Lake he had a message to call a neighbor. He went directly to the American Fork hospital, where Nanette was being treated. She was transferred to the University of Utah Hospital because they can care for extremely premature babies. Both hospitals ran tests to confirm that Nanette's membranes truly had ruptured. However, she did not progress into labor and both twins were showing no signs of distress.
